On 23 August 2024, Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR) submitted an input to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child as it drafted its General Comment No. 27 on children’s rights to access justice and effective remedies.
This submission provides a deep dive into the barriers children face in accessing justice, ranging from arbitrary arrests and the use of severe political charges to the “special measures” diversion system that often coerces confessions.
